Qualities and Skills
- The ability to communicate well with children and teens
- A positive attitude and the ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
- A high degree of comfort with technology, including automated circulation systems, and the desire to learn and apply new technology to the library setting
- A broad knowledge of children’s literature
- Event coordination, planning and organization skills
- Excellent customer service orientation and sense of humor
Education and Experience
- Considerable professional experience serving children, teens and families, including collection development, reference and reader’s advisory, program implementation, and marketing
- Master’s degree in library science and three years of professional library experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Tracy Memorial Library is a 14,000 square foot facility consisting of an historical building (1820s) which was expanded in 1990 and remodeled recently.
