Youth Programs Librarian I, Boston Public Library, Boston, MA

The Boston Public Library is accepting applications for a Youth Programs Librarian I – Temporary 3 Year Grant Funded position. The successful candidate will promotes creative literacy to children and teens, by incorporating creativity concepts in all programming; conduct programs for youth of all ages; assist in the development of content and projects; assist in the conceptualization, development, implementation, and evaluation of innovative, educational programs for infants through teens incorporating technology, as appropriate, and support the concepts of creativity, and self-expression.

Salary: $45,903 – $61,902, DOQ. Competitive benefits.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education – Master’s degree in library and information science.

Experience – Knowledge of broad-based library, school, or museum programming practices, including current trends in youth services. Knowledge of and experience with online communications and social networking tools.

Requirements – Some weekend and evening hours. Ability to travel to BPL locations as well as to off-site locations.

  2. Residency – Must be a resident of the City of Boston upon the first day of hire
  3. CORI – Must successfully clear a Criminal Offenders Record Information check with the City of Boston
