Derby Academy in Hingham, Massachusetts is seeking to fill the position of Library/Media Assistant for the 2015-1016 school year. This position provides support to the instructional program of the school with specific responsibilities for maintaining the library and media collections at school sites, identifying age-appropriate resources for students and teachers utilizing library and media resources and performing clerical functions related to collection, processing, circulation, and inventory of library materials. The assistant librarian also monitors parent volunteers and as well as student activities and computer use. Desired minimum qualifications for this position include a bachelor’s degree in library science, strong organizational skills, experience in technology applications and ability to use web tools, and basic knowledge of children’s literature.
