Electronic Resources Specialist, Dartmouth College, Hanover, NH

Dartmouth College Library seeks a talented, capable individual to join the Acquisitions Services Department in the position of Electronic Resources Specialist. The Electronic Resources Specialist serves as a resource and point person for library bibliographers and library staff with requests, questions, and problems related to electronic resources.

Duties include: assists individual staff and library committees in the management of information relating to electronic resources (e.g. license contracts, use statistics, access protocols, renewal information, etc.); provides support to library users with access problems; leads one or more special project teams; trains new staff members. Works in a multi-system, multi-platform technical environment, utilizing an array of complex automated information systems in performance of acquisitions.

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and knowledge: 

  • Experience with and ability to use a wide range of information technologies, including multiple computing platforms (Macintosh, PC) and the internet. 
  • Technical computer-related problem solving skills
  • HTML/XTML knowledge highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, a demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively, and a commitment to serving the needs of a diverse community.
  • Working knowledge of one or more foreign languages desirable
  • Commitment to diversity and to serving the needs of a diverse community

Minimum Qualifications: Experience with library automated systems and with digital resources such as electronic journals and databases; Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent experience. This is a full-time position, 37.5 hours a week. Review of applications will being June 1, 2015, and continue till the position is filled.
