Digital Asset Manager/Media Librarian, MetLife Creative Services, West Warwick, RI

MetLife Creative Services is looking to fill the Digital Asset Manager/Media Librarian position. The Digital Asset Manager/Media Librarian will archive all of MetLife Creative Services’ project files, media, footage, and final programs on the SAN (Storage Area Network). They will also maintain our global Asset Library, our resource containing reusable b-roll, images, animations, music, templates, etc. Finally, the Digital Asset Manager/Media Librarian will work closely with CatDV, a digital asset management software where one can search for specific media or final programs located on the SAN.

This could potentially be a full-time freelance position (30-40 hours per week) at our office in West Warwick, RI.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all footage gets backed up and properly organized on the SAN.
  • Copy and send footage and/or media onto external hard drives for editors/animators.
  • Archive project files, media, footage, and final video for each program. This may require reaching out to editors and animators to obtain all files. Then, files would have to be organized onto the SAN, following our folder structure.
  • Maintain and continue building our Asset Library. Reusable media (b-roll, images, animations, music, templates, etc.) from archived programs need to be added to our Asset Library.
  • Import and log media into CatDV. Define a process. Create and utilize an easily replicable workflow to capture and manage all metadata/video assets in CatDV. The goal is to build a searchable asset library of final programs, music, photographs and other elements for use by our department/enterprise.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and organization skills.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new environments.
  • Knowledge of digital media including video, audio, images, animation, etc.
  • Experience and passion for information management.
  • Experience in working with CatDV or other database programs
