The Tuftonboro Free Library is currently seeking a dynamic, innovative person to job share the Library Director’s position.
Job share consists of splitting the duties, salaried wages, and benefits of a full-time Director.
The Library Co-Directors administer all aspects of library operations in accordance with the policies established by the Trustees, and ensure that public service is the priority for all staff and volunteers.
The Co-Directors: Recommend and/or participate in formulating any changes in library policy, staffing and services. Select and weed all materials. Hire, supervise, and evaluate library staff (one full-time Circulation/IT Supervisor, three part-time Circulation Desk Assistants, one page) and volunteers. Plan, publicize, implement, and evaluate programs for children and adults. Supervise the maintenance and care of the building and grounds. Maintain administrative and operating records, and prepare statistical reports for the Board of Trustees and annual reports for the Town and the New Hampshire State Library.
Desired Minimum Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Library Science from an accredited college or university and at least two years experience in a public library supervisory and/or administrative position, or any equivalent combination of experience and training providing the required knowledge.
The ideal candidate will also demonstrate excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as a team leader, and will possess solid working knowledge of current technology in library service. Experience with KOHA ILS a plus.
Schedule: 3 alternating days per week, including alternate Saturdays. Minimum starting salary $21,722, with raise upon successful completion of six-month probation.
