Job Description:

Full-time year round position available in Geisel Library; typical hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This individual will provide administrative and office management support within Geisel Library and assist library staff with questions regarding library operating policies and procedures. Provide assistance in the fiscal management of the Library’s annual operations budget. Assist with various Library-customized computer hardware, software, peripherals and services, including some phases of configuration, installation, maintenance and troubleshooting. Ensure the confidentiality and maintenance of all office records (paper and electronic). This person is the primary contact with various campus offices and units to maintain effective building operations, management of events within the Library, and effective working relationships for the Library Administrative Office with the Saint Anselm Community and with various external contacts. Assists with special projects as needed; other duties as assigned. Reports to the College Librarian.

Required Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills and ability to follow detailed procedures.
  • As end-user technology evolves, a strong interest in understanding and assisting the library with maintaining user-friendly systems and services.

Preferred qualifications

  • Some experience troubleshooting technical problems and maintaining/configuring software.
  • Previous technical training.
  • Previous library experience.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus two years relevant experience required, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills have been acquired.
