Role Purpose
Position is responsible for:
- Ensuring consistently excellent user experiences for all onsite library services to the adult community of New Canaan
- Oversight and leadership of full range of user experiences onsite at the library, including: programming, reference/information services, and readers’ advisory, outreach, public technology assistance, instruction/classes, customer service, and all other services for adult population of the community
- Professional leadership and management of the Adult Services team with a focus on the creation of a high performing, cohesive and well coordinated team which embodies our organizational values and delivers exceptional service at all times
- Leading and participating in cross departmental project teams including, but not restricted to, service delivery, innovations and management of projects as required
- Participating in Library strategic and long range planning in collaboration with the library leadership team

Responsibilities
Deliverables
- Adult Services team deliver consistently exceptional services (information, reader’s advice, outreach services, programs, classes, technology tuition, etc.) as measured by agreed performance indicators
- Information desk staff is effectively staffed by well prepared team to deliver excellent services
- Adult Services team are supported to effectively perform their roles
- Effective collaboration and engagement with other departments to enable delivery of seamless integrated services to whole community
- Leading and participating in professional learning “in house”
Accountabilities
- Professional leadership of Adult Services team including appropriate delegation and resource allocation to ensure high performing team
- Contribution to library strategic planning
- Ownership of the planning, development and delivery of onsite services for adults
- Collaboration with other managers/department heads to provide seamless access to all services (on site, online, by phone)

Salary: $65,000-80,000
