Job Summary

The Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory is accepting applications for summer employment in the following area: Library Aid/Technician grade 3, 4, 5 $27,804- $36,086/yr. 

Key Requirements

• Pre and Post background investigation.
• Electronic funds transfer/direct deposit is required for salary payment

Duties:

Maintaining updating documenting and adding bibliographic data into the computer; designing and producing content for web sites; performing quality assurance tests and accuracy checks for abstract and article services; entering and creating metadata for literature by using custom software tools; performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Grade 3: 6 months general experience or high school graduation or equivalent.

Grade 4: 1 year of general experience or 2 years above high school.

Grade 5: 2 years of general experience or 4 years above high school.

Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for all grade levels and positions for which both education and experience are acceptable.
