Archives and Emerging Technologies Librarian, Western New England University, Springfield, MA

D’Amour Library of Western New England University seeks an enthusiastic, innovative, and multi-faceted librarian for the position of Archives and Emerging Technologies Librarian. The Archives Librarian will continue the development of the University’s archives and provide leadership in the planning and creation of the Library’s and University’s digital collections. In addition to these duties the successful candidate will take the lead in identifying, assessing, and recommending technologies to advance the mission of D’Amour Library. As a member of the information literacy and reference teams, the Archives and Emerging Technologies Librarian will actively participate in D’Amour Library’s vibrant Information Literacy Program for the University as well as provide general reference and research assistance which will require some evening and weekend hours on a rotating basis.

Qualifications:

Required: Master’s of Library Science from an ALA accredited program and two years of experience in archival work are required. Demonstrated knowledge of information technology applications in an archives and library environment, including digitization technologies, collection management systems and digital asset management systems is essential as is a strong public service orientation. Demonstrated teaching ability and excellent oral and written communication skills are required.

Strongly Preferred: Prior academic library experience.
