Qualifications:
- Master’s degree with a major in appropriate related field
- MA Licensed as a Superintendent, Principal or Director/Supervisor
- Successful experience in teaching and supervision preferred
- Technology and library/media experience preferred
- Training and experience in instructional technology integration preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work with people
- Experience in program planning and budgeting preferred
- Evidence of experience and training needed to perform the functions described in the job description

Reports to: Superintendent
Supervises: Supervise staff in the Technology and Library department
Job Goal: Provide leadership and direction to district’s technology and library-media programs. Provide current information to support decision-making on educational and administrative matters. Establish and enforce policies for acceptable technology use. Oversee the development and maintenance of all district communications; i.e., website, social media, notification systems, etc. Prepare annual budget and direct purchasing for district-wide technology needs. Coordinate federal and/or state grants and projects for educational technology and library programs. Perform such other duties and assume such other responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent.
Responsibilities:
- Direct the district wide instructional and administrative technology programs
- Coordinate the development and implementation of the district’s long term technology plan
- Schedule, plan and run departmental and Technology Advisory Board meetings
- Research and recommend the purchase of technology equipment, software, and supporting materials, maintaining an up-to-date inventory
- Collaborate in the planning and coordination of staff development programs, including IT and support staff
- Develop funding strategies to support technology that include grant proposals, state and local budgets, eRate and other available funding opportunities;
- Communicating through appropriate venues the endeavors and direction of technology within the district;
- Keep informed of new developments and trends in the field of technology in order that innovations and new materials and equipment may be piloted and/or purchased and used in the district
- Supervise the support, maintenance, integrity and implementation of all district systems including: Email, Internet, telecommunications, finance, personnel, special education, and student information software systems to enable the district to meet all local, state and federal communication and reporting requirements
- Collaborate with the Office of Curriculum and Instruction to ensure the integration of technology into curriculum, instruction and assessment
- Serve as a resource person to facility planning and curriculum committees
- Manage and supervise all technology staff
- Develop, implement, and monitor an effective system to provide timely support and equipment repair for all technology users.
Library/Technology
- Assess the district library and technology program in relation to state and local district standards for personnel, facilities, materials, and equipment
- Coordinate and supervise the curriculum development and implementation of library and technology programs
- Initiate, plan, implement, and evaluate in-service opportunities and ongoing professional development for instructional staff
- Direct purchasing, processing, and organizational procedures for all library materials and technology equipment
- Establish and implement efficient management procedures for library materials and technology equipment
- Serve as the district’s copyright compliance officer.
- Assist with the selection and assignment of all technology and library personnel
- Supervise and evaluate all staff in the Technology and Library department.
