This voluntary internship is premised on preparing librarians for a changing work environment that involves remote working and transferable skills. It is flexible and can be adapted to the requirements of particular programs and interns, both in terms of content and duration. Minimum duration of the internship is six months. All interns work remotely. It represents a great opportunity for students and recent graduates to gain experience in: 1) cutting-edge developments in academic publications and 2) the development of an innovative partnership between librarians and academics.
It is run in affiliation with Ravensbourne (University) College, London, UK; and Adelphi University, New York, US.
This internship will involve the following:
Search and identify worldwide news, events, exhibitions, book reviews and calls for papers and presentations in the areas of study related to the journal. Be proactive in developing our communication strategy through daily tweets, Facebook posts, and compiling links to images on Pinterest that are related to themes expressed in our events and published works – with the goal to drive traffic back to our articles, events and activities.
The ideal candidate is experienced with Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google Drive, and bit.ly. An interest or background in architecture, journalism, or experience with managing social media is preferred. Library & information science skills are essential.
