PJ Library is an international Jewish book subscription program for children and their families which has become an indispensable tool to connect families to the Jewish community. PJ Library in Boston is administered by the Jewish Community Centers of Greater Boston and is the cornerstone of the JCC’s efforts to engage families with young children in Jewish life. Each month, PJ Library Greater Boston sends out more than 3,000 books and distributes a monthly PJ e-newsletter to over 4,000 families who reside in 98 towns in the Greater Boston area.
The coordinator is the face of PJ Library in the Boston community, interacting with families, strategic partners and, at times, donors. The coordinator plays a key role in the family engagement team and strategy of the JCCs of Greater Boston and represents the JCC in its many collaborations with other Jewish and secular organizations throughout the region.
The coordinator will be responsible for managing the varied aspects of this program which include overseeing all administrative elements of the book subscription service; developing and implementing a program plan; developing and sustaining community partnerships; coordinating public-space and community-wide events and programs; and meeting all the reporting requirements of funders. Exceptional organizational, administrative and interpersonal skills are required along with the ability to be flexible, think creatively and strategically, and work well in a team environment. Experience working with families and/or children preferred.
