Temporary Librarian, School Library, North Shore area, MA

BiblioTemps®, a short-term staffing service of the Massachusetts Library System, is seeking candidates for a temporary Librarian for one of our school library clients. The schedule for this full-time assignment will be 8am to 4pm, Monday through Friday. The placement will begin as soon as possible and continue through mid-June.
Duties:
- Performs all duties of a high school librarian, including circulation, research assistance, ability to work with teachers/students on research papers;
- Fosters a creative, flexible environment so that the school library is an essential part of the learning community;
- Develops and maintains resources appropriate to the curriculum, the learners, and instructional strategies of the school community;
- Cooperates and networks with other libraries/agencies;
- Establishes procedures for selection, acquisition, circulation, resource sharing of resources in all formats;
- Evaluates, promotes and uses existing and emerging technologies to support teaching and learning;
- Promotes the ethical use of information: copyright, fair use, and licensing of intellectual property.
Qualifications:
- MLS from accredited library school. New professionals will be considered.
- Knowledge of current methods of library instruction/information literacy.
- Ability to constructively supervise and interact with high school students;
- Ability to collaborate and interact effectively with colleagues;
- Facility with Word, Excel, Follett software, and library databases.
