Call for Proposals: 2015 Symposium on LIS Education

The 2015 Symposium on LIS Education is a two day student-led event, facilitated by LIS students, for LIS students.
The Planning Committee is now accepting 300-500 word abstracts for proposed workshops, presentations, posters, and panels (for both in-person and virtual sessions) that address one or more of the following themes related to library and information science education:
- Curriculum
- Professional Preparedness
- Access & Inclusion
Potential topics could include, but are not limited to:
- Diversity
- Advising and mentoring
- Gaps in LIS curriculum: critical theory, technical competencies
- Administrative transparency
- Information ethics
- Reflections on online education
- Pre-professional experience and opportunities
- Costs and funding
- Required courses
- Career placement
- Dual degrees and specializations
Please specify the format of your presentation in the abstract.
If you are planning to present remotely for a workshop, presentation, or panel, be prepared to receive instructions on using the Blackboard Collaborate platform or Skype.
