Acquisitions Coordinator, Brandeis University, Waltham, MA

Library & Technology Services (LTS) is looking for an Acquisitions Coordinator. This person will be responsible for processing invoices and participating in the development of workflow, policies, procedures and documentation for the implementation and maintenance of automated system. This person will also assist in a variety of activities related to information management and assessment and work closely with the Judaica Librarian.  

Examples of Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for processing invoices and tracking budget allocations. Communicates with external providers, including publishers and vendors. Provides regular reports to the Associate University Librarian for Collections and department liaisons.
  • Responsible for searching, checking, and transliterating Hebrew and Yiddish bibliographic and authority entries.
  • Assists with with special collections metadata creation, especially with Hebrew and Yiddish.

Qualifications:

Required: Proficiency in Hebrew; knowledge of library automated systems and acquisitions; excellent communication skills; excellent analytical and organizational skills and aptitude for detail-oriented work; ability to work as part of a team.

Preferred: Familiarity with a relational database management system; related work experience (data entry, database maintenance, etc). Experience with MARC21, AACR2, RDA, LCSH, LCC and Dublin Core. Knowledge of Yiddish.
