Responsibilities:

The Special Projects Library Assistant supports the creation of the New England Prescription Images Database Project.

  • Work with a pharmacist/pharmacy student to interpret and transcribe handwritten prescriptions from the period of 1876-1915.
  • Provide computer support for the project, including data entry, manipulation of scanned images and metadata creation.
  • Research information for transcription.
  • Consult with the pharmacists as an integral part of the project.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Currently enrolled in a MS program in Library and Information Science
  • Knowledge of MS Office products, in particular MS Access
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Flexible schedule
