General Role:
Assist Journal Business Development Department in developing and implementing strategy for raising awareness of selected journals, with the goal of increasing article submissions for publication.
Duties:
- Provide support to the Journal Business Development Department through online research of potential contributors for special issue guest editors and articles acquisition.
- Liase with journal Editors-in-chief, Guest Editors, technical reviewers, and contributors in preparing material for submission to the Publisher for publication in its journals.
- Coordinate communication to potential contributors, track their responses, and provide updates to the Journal Business Development Department.
- Conduct market competitor research and competitor analysis for acquisition targets, and present results and recommendation to Editorial, Marketing and Sales Department.
Professional Skills:
- Ability to work alone and to search and query research material in various databases is essential.
- Excellent communications including writing and presenting information is required.
- Ability to manage and to prioritize multiple tasks within defined time periods is important.
Personal Skills:
- Web savvy, especially related to online research would be especially helpful.
- Excellent written and spoken English is essential.
Internship Period:
Spring Semester or approximately 4 months
