The Center on Media and Child Health at Boston Children’s Hospital is dedicated to understanding and responding to the effects of media and technology on the physical, psychological, and social health of youth. Through research, translation, and innovation, we aim to provide researchers, health professionals, and parents with the science behind raising media-smart kids.

 

As an Abstract Writer, you will be responsible for reading assigned scholarly journal articles about media effects on children’s health, and writing scientific abstracts and plain language summaries of each. These abstracts and summaries will be published in CMCH’s freely available online Database of Research. After the initial training, all work can be performed remotely.

 

Qualifications

  •          Current student enrolled in a graduate-level program within the Boston area
  •          Excellent writing, editing, and grammatical skills, with the ability to follow a rigorous style guide
  •          Excellent computer skills, including previous experience using content management systems, or willingness to learn quickly
  •          Familiarity with scholarly research articles
