Hours per week – up to 15 (must be worked during Monday-Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm).
Rate of pay: $12.00
Summary:
Reporting to Andrea Schulman, performs a variety of complex general administrative support duties for the Special Collections Section within the Knowledge and Library Services (KLS) department, including but not limited to:
- Tracking and ordering new faculty books
- Searching, sorting and administering donated books
- Providing administrative support for Special Collections’ projects, programs, and tours
- Assisting with budget and processing of invoices
- Preparing inventories of special collections
- Maintaining the KLS administrative files, calendars, and staff sharesites
- Assisting with the logistics for staff recruitment and performance management, assisting with business travel arrangements for KLS staff.
- Assisting in the maintenance of the KLS Departmental ShareSite
- Other tasks as needed.
Requirements:
Required:
Two years education beyond high school.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and to take responsibility for specific functions
Ability to juggle multiple priorities, to handle detailed work accurately and with general supervision and review, and to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
Demonstrated experience in applying judgment in selecting and applying established procedures correctly, and determining when to refer problems to the supervisor.
Experience working in or using an academic library.
Desirable:
One to two years related work experience. Education beyond high school may count toward experience.
