The Wheelock College Library is accepting applications for Reserve/ILL Public Service Assistant.
This is a part-time, pre-professional position that will provide incumbents with experience in working with various Reserve and Interlibrary Loan services. Candidates must demonstrate interest in public services work in an academic library.
General Responsibilities:
- Process requests for materials to be placed on Reserve, including books, DVDs, articles, and personal copies
- De-process materials being removed from Reserve at semester end
- Communicate with faculty and library staff regarding reserves requests
- Assist with processing both in-coming and out-going ILL requests from the Virtual Catalog, OCLC, and within the FLO network
- Locate materials in library and assists in processing for ILL delivery
- Assist in processing materials received through ILL services
- Process email related to ILL services
- Other duties as assigned by the Access Services Librarian
Qualifications
- Interest in working in Access Services within an academic library
- Must be detail-oriented, able to work independently
- Priority given to individuals currently enrolled in a graduate library science program for two or fewer semesters
- Must be available 8 to 10 hours per week, with shifts of 2 to 3 hours over the course of the week
- Availability on weekdays before 5PM preferred
