Evening Library Manager, Curry College, Milton MA

Curry College is currently seeking a Full-time Evening Library Manager, working a Sunday through Thursday work week, from 4pm – 12 Midnight. The Evening Library Manager reports directly to the Circulation Manager for the Levin Library. S/he works with the Circulation Manager to coordinate the Levin Library operations in the evening to ensure that Levin Library is a productive, welcoming and secure environment for students and the Curry College community. This position is responsible for assisting the Circulation Manager in developing and administering training for all student employees, monitoring their work and overseeing the schedule updates and corrections as needed. In addition, s/he will assist with collection maintenance and access support (print and electronic), including serials support, supervision of stack maintenance projects, such as shelf reading, inventory, and shifts; provides informational assistance and acts as a resource to students, staff, and faculty; provides first level reference assistance in collaboration with the reference librarian; instructs and assists library patrons in the use of library equipment; troubleshoots computer software and printer problems and contacts the Tech Center as necessary; manages the electronic course syllabi file on the college network and will participate, as appropriate, in scheduled library programming.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree required; a minimum of 2 years broad library experience, including supervision of student workers; strong technology and troubleshooting skills including Microsoft Office Suite; possess the ability to be collaborative and to work independently with great attention to detail; possess a strong commitment to customer service; must be able to bend, lift and push a loaded library cart and possess experience with a variety of library systems, databases, resources preferred. This position works a Sunday-Thursday schedule, from 4pm – 12 Midnight shift, and will require some flexibility with their schedule during summers; holiday and specific timeframes of extended Library Hours.
