Position Summary:
This is a temporary position for a minimum of 3 months but may be extended up to 6 months. This is a unique opportunity to work with an experienced, professional team in a collegial environment.
Requirements:
· M.L.S. candidate or recent graduate from an ALA accredited program
· Practical research experience, ideally in a law library, or coursework related to special libraries (e.g. legal, business) is a plus
· Excellent administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills
· Strong customer service orientation
· Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
· Proficiency with MS Office and Adobe applications is required
· Knowledge of Lexis, Westlaw and PACER is a plus
· Knowledge of Sydney PLUS or similar library automation system is helpful
Responsibilities:
· Provide accurate and timely reference assistance to attorneys and staff
· Research companies and individuals
· Retrieve cases, Shepard’s reports, docket filings, legislative documents, public records, and agency filings
· Retrieve news, legal and scientific articles
· Special business development projects as needed
· Coordinate interlibrary loans
· Mail processing and filing service coordination
· Shared shelving and collection maintenance duties
