Baker Library Historical Collections

Salary: $12.00/hour

Location: Harvard Business School, Baker Library Historical Collections 

Pay: $12/hr

Hours: 15 hrs/week. Flexible, but must be Mon-Fri, 9am to 5pm.

Brief Description: The Historical Collections Department is looking for a responsible and detail-oriented assistant to provide support for the processing and cataloging of the archival and manuscript collections at Baker Library. Collection formats may include manuscripts, typescripts, bound volumes, and audio/visual materials. Duties include inventorying collections, performing basic collection preservation tasks, rehousing collections and providing support for the general management of the collections as needed. Performs data entry.

Requirements: Basic computer skills and strong attention to detail essential. Previous special collections library experience, particularly with inventorying and processing collections, desirable. Excellent communications skills, ability to be collaborative and work under supervision. Sensitivity to proper care and handling of special collections essential. Ability to lift boxes up to 40 pounds.
