Temporary Positions (up to 15 months) for Culinary Museum, Providence area, RI
A Providence area culinary museum is conducting a comprehensive inventory of its holdings of over 250,000 items. Greysmith is working with the museum to hire temporary inventory specialists to lead a collections processing team and create inventory/accession records for assigned items. The items will need to be packaged for storage and housed accordingly. Inventory specialists will assist with the reorganization of the collection storage spaces as well.
We are looking for candidates with experience working in museums, libraries, historical societies, or similar institutions. This position requires the ability to lift and climb, and to carefully handle collected items with attention to detail, organization, sound judgment and collaborative teamwork. Knowledge of PastPerfect Museum Software and education in museum studies, history or a related discipline is preferred.
