Youth Services Librarian (Part-Time), Stratford Library Association (Stratford, CT)

Job Summary:

Are you excited about providing youth services in a diverse community? The Stratford Library Association will give you the opportunity to work in a team environment developing programs and services for teens in grades 6 – 12. You will participate in Teen Department services including: reference and readers advisory; instruction in library resources, research methods, collection development, outreach, and programming. Extensive knowledge of teen literature, strong communication skills, enthusiasm for current teen trends and pop culture, and a commitment to public service required. Schedule also included some adult reference desk work.

Qualifications:

ALA accredited MLS/MLIS or comparably relevant degree required. Candidates with MLS/MLIS degrees in progress welcome to apply (pay rate commensurate with degree status). Bilingual Spanish/English highly desirable.

Hours & Compensation:

  • 8 to 15 hours/week
  • Hours required: Tuesday and Thursday evenings and the fourth and fifth Saturdays of the month with additional hours as needed for coverage.
  • Pay rate for successful candidate with MLS/MLIS or comparably relevant degree: $30.97-$45.37 per hour.
