Office Assistant (Temporary), Lamont & Widener Library, Harvard, (Cambridge, MA)

**This is a full-time 90-day temporary position**

Reporting to the Program and Operations Administrator for Research, Teaching, and Learning, the office assistant will perform a variety of duties in support of the day-to-day operations for the Research, Teaching, and Learning units. Supervisor will provide instructions for work and determine priorities. Duties will range from room scheduling of RTL managed spaces, to conducting supply inventory and organization of incoming supplies. Exercises judgement in applying established procedures and policy, will interact with students, faculty, staff especially for room booking.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Serve as contact for booking RTL managed spaces in Lamont Library, with supervisory support will field and triage room requests in keeping with room use policy/procedure, provide relevant information regarding policy/procedure for space use, liaise with Operations for room set-up/clean-up and Creative Technologies for room equipment support.

Maintain inventory and help to organize supplies in direct collaboration with supervisor, reporting supply needs to supervisor.

Assist supervisor with special administrative projects, including space maintenance in Lamont Library and designates spaces within Widener Library, data collection/data entry, and at library events as needed. 

Contribute to regular departmental communications, assist with meeting scheduling, and other additional administrative duties as assigned in support of the Research, Teaching, and Learning portfolio – working across Lamont Library and Widener Library.

Qualifications

Education: High school graduate or equivalent, preferably with some general business training beyond high school.

Skills and Experience: One to two years related work experience preferred. Education beyond high school may count toward experience.

Additional Requirements: May be asked to move and lift items within reason (supplies, equipment etc.) in library spaces, make/pick-up deliveries within Harvard Square.
