What does the diversity residency entail?

In their first year, the resident will be mentored by the program coordinator in information literacy and online instruction and by the library director and other librarians in foundational skills in academic librarianship, such as collection development, liaison work and reference. In their second year, the resident will oversee the library’s instruction program and lead in the creation of digital learning objects in support of students in online environments, along with performing liaison and reference duties, giving the resident the opportunity to gain a wide breadth of experience in academic libraries.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a colleague who will have a passion for working with diverse students in a teaching and learning environment, interest in instructional technology, and a desire to develop as an information literacy instructor. We are accepting applications from those who graduate from an ALA-accredited program within the last three years, or with an expected graduation date before December 31, 2023.. The date of hire must be after degree completion.
