Library Director, Langley-Adams Library, Groveland, MA

Langley-Adams Library Board of Trustees and Town of Groveland seeks an experienced Library Director responsible for the management, administration, and direction of all day-to-day library operations and services, within established library policies. This includes preparing and managing the library’s budget, short and long range planning, grants, collection development, community outreach and programs, and managing personnel. We are part of the Merrimack Valley Library Consortium (MVLC link http://www.mvlc.org/Welcome) and use Evergreen as our catalog.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the management and operation of all phases of the library (including maintaining the budget) and its program of services in accordance with policies established by the Library Board of Trustees. Supervise staff (2 FT [Adult and Youth Services], 3 PT library assistants, and 3 PT Pages [total 14 hours]) and hire to fill vacancies, as needed. Liaison to Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners and Merrimack Valley Library Consortium. The director works in close cooperation with the board and is directly accountable to the board.

Have excellent communication skills; both verbally and in writing and excellent planning and organizational skills. Develop an understanding of our library needs and interests of this community. Understand and know how to operate and troubleshoot computer systems and associated related software.

Required: BA/BS Degree – Experience in Public Library Administration
Preferred: Supervisory experience, Master’s Degree in Library Science Experience with Evergreen preferred.
Permanent – Full-time
Hours: 37 hrs/wk
Salary: Up to $61,000 with benefits.
