Library Director, Wareham Free Library, Wareham, MA

The Town of Wareham seeks a confident, creative professional to lead its excellent library staff, Board of Trustees and support groups on the road to financial stability and state certification.  The Director of this vital community institution is a staff supervisor, budget creator, liaison to the larger library networks and the public face of the library in the local community.  An ability to communicate clearly in conversation, print and on social media is critical, as is a desire to work collaboratively with consultants and other town departments.

The Wareham Free Library serves patron of all ages, toddlers to seniors, in a diverse community.  Encouraging staff creativity and growth, supporting ongoing programming, and serving patrons directly are vital in this time of change and challenge, as is working to restore full library services and eventual recertification.

Professional requirements:  MLS, technological proficiency, and experience working in a public library environment required.  The starting date is July 1, 2016.  This is a 40 hour a week position but may be negotiable, with a salary ranging from $63,085.97 to $82,312.95 depending on experience.  Schedule may include Saturdays.
