Summer Oral History Internships Available, John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum (Internship # 16-OH-01)
The John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum is currently seeking applicants for a part time oral history internship position in our Archives Processing Unit. The Oral History Program is one of the oldest continuing activities of the John F. Kennedy Library, with a collection containing over 1,200 interviews. After orientation with institutional processing and editing procedures, and under close supervision, the oral history intern will have the opportunity to review, edit, format, identify content, and provide structure and access points to the transcripts of individual interviews though the creation of table of contents and indices with the goal of digitization and eventual posting online through the Library’s website. Intern may have opportunity to work on other projects in the Archives Processing Unit as time permits.
Candidates must be currently enrolled in a graduate program in archival studies or public history. Previous experience processing archival materials is preferred. Interns will receive a monthly stipend of $560 (part time, 2 days/week), paid on the 15th of the month. Summer internships start May 15th and end August 14th.
