Head Librarian, St. Mark’s School, Southborough, MA

St. Mark’s School seeks a forward-thinking, experienced librarian to serve as the next Head Librarian. The Head Librarian is the curricular leader in research and information literacy, partnering with faculty and students in the pursuit of teaching and learning goals. By cultivating and managing the teaching and learning resources of the library – its space and its physical, digital, human, and intellectual resources – the Head Librarian is integral leader in supporting the school’s intellectual, character, and leadership development learning outcomes.

This position requires an MLS from an ALA accredited institution (or foreign equivalent), a minimum of five years library experience (preferably in a boarding school), and excellent oral, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Evening and weekend work consistent with life in a boarding school community is also expected. Experience with collection development for students in grades 9-12 and adults, supervising a library staff, and teaching information and digital literacy is highly desirable. The successful candidate will be a team player with a positive outlook who brings personal and professional energy to a community that holds high standards for citizenship and academic achievement.
