College Records Manager, Dartmouth College, Hanover, NH

Dartmouth College Library seeks a motivated, detail-oriented, and outgoing person with a good sense of humor to join a team made up of content managers, records managers and archivists to create and champion a new digital records infrastructure for the College. The successful candidate will have a significant background in traditional, paper-based systems, but an equal strength in the management of electronic content. The position will play an integral role in setting policy, assisting with infrastructure design, advocating for the integration of a campus-wide solution while working to assure long-term viability for records of enduring value. The Records Manager also provides leadership, training, guidance, and technical assistance to encourage the adoption of Dartmouth’s institutional tools and policies for digital records management.

Reporting to the Associate Librarian for User Engagement and Technologies, the Records Manager is also responsible for maintaining Dartmouth’s existing comprehensive campus-wide records and information management program for physical records. The position also provides oversight of the College Records Center, its facility, staff, and operations.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Five years of relevant experience in records or information management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication skills are essential.
  • Extensive knowledge of business processes, workflows, and systems that create and maintain records
  • Understanding of library and archival policies and practices in a higher education setting is strongly desired
  • Thorough understanding of digital records management system design, document imaging, and content management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with campus leadership and staff to promote the records management program and a strong understanding of records management standards and practices.

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree, or the equivalent, and must be a Certified Records Manager (CRM), or be willing to commit to certification within two years of employment. Certification as a Document Imaging Architect (CDIA) and/or an AIIM Master of Enterprise Content Management or Master of Enterprise Records Management is desirable.

Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Full benefits package includes 22 vacation days; comprehensive health care; retirement plans, including TIAA-CREF; and relocation assistance.
