Summary
Under the general direction of Youth Services Manager performs responsible functions requiring considerable judgment and initiative in planning and overseeing services to teens both within the library and the community. Advocates for teens and teen services. Initiates, plans and conducts a variety of programs, outreaches and activities to encourage the use of the library by teens ages 12 to 18. Maintains collection development of teen collection and readers’ advisory. Evening and weekend work required.

Salary
$43,967 Annually

Qualifications
Master’s degree in Library Science (MLS) from an ALA accredited program of study with two (2) years related experience in a field such as teaching, recreation, social work, book sales or related field.

Alternate requirements: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and the ability to complete the Master’s degree in Library Sciences (MLS) within six (6) months from the date of employment, and three (3) years related experience in a field such as teaching, recreation, social work, or book sales, or related field.

Knowledge of current teen literature, programs, electronic resources and audio, visual and electronic materials a plus.
