Program Assistant, Simmons College, School Library Teacher Program, Boston, MA

In coordination with the Program Director and Program Manager, this part-time position (10 hours per week, 12 months per year) manages administrative and clerical responsibilities in the School Library Teacher Program. Responsibilities include administering all aspects of the student practicum process, working with students and faculty on the filing of appropriate fieldwork forms, managing student files for licensure, attending orientation and meetings, assisting with all clerical duties, and working with other staff on communicating policies and information. This position participates in the organizational and team-related responsibilities and activities expected of members of a team-based organization.

Requirements:

  • Customer Service experience.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Scheduling experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel), calendaring software, and standard office equipment; ability to learn new applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Superior judgment and discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work as a team player and the ability to work independently and get the work done on time and deadline.
  • College experience preferred.
  • Minimum degree required: Bachelor’s Degree Preferred, Associate’s Degree Required.
