Media Technical Assistant: Leave Replacement, Teachers’ Resource Center, ICTS Department, Cambridge Public Schools, Cambridge, MA

Position available now through June 21, 2016 (last day of school w/o snow days)

40 hrs/week, 7:15 am-3:15 pm Monday-Friday

Overview

Under the supervision of the TRC Library Media Specialist, the Media Technical Assistant will provide services to teachers and students. The position includes student and staff training in use of digital media, digital media production, equipment
circulation, audio-visual set-ups for events at CRLS, computer lab maintenance.

Duties

  • Circulates and maintains multimedia instructional equipment, supplies and inventory
  • Assists teachers and staff with location and circulation of curriculum resources
  • Provides multimedia set up and video recording of special events
  • Off air recording and distribution
  • Maintains TRC MAC lab
  • Provides individual and small group professional development and point of need support in the use of media equipment, media making applications and other cps learning resources
  • Supports implementation of student based media and technology infused projects
  • Updates TRC website and manages social media as indicated by TRC Library Media Specialist
  • Supports Teachers Resource Center Library Media Specialist in special projects as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 3 years experience in grades 9-12 or high instructional media and technology support or related field; an advanced degree in instructional media or related field preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to use advanced digital audio and video recording and editing tools including iLife suite of products
  • Demonstrated experience with audio set-ups for special events
  • Demonstrated experience working with both adults and young learners in an educational setting
  • Demonstrated ability to be detail and service-oriented handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a busy service environment
  • Knowledge of both Mac and PC platforms
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
