The mission of the Product Specialist is to support the advancement EBSCO’s position as a trusted provider of high-quality digital content in the School and Public Library Market. S/he will be responsible for supporting product development within the division based on his/her expert knowledge of the needs of schools and public libraries. S/he will work with the School/Public Product Managers to develop and implement the vision for expansion within the key markets of opportunity, specifically educational technology. The Product Specialist will also assist with support of market-specific user research projects, the writing of requirements for new technology projects, development of new content, and the analysis of customer-driven service issues. The Product Specialist is an individual with strong analytical skills and a bias for action that thrives in a highly versatile position.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Be an expert on the school and public markets to better inform product development.
- Develop growth strategies and conduct market analyses for the school and public library markets.
- Track competitive developments within school/public market and provide Product Managers with monthly updates.
- Act as content specialist for product lines, with a specific focus on Literature.
- Support Product Managers in the product development workflow
- Write requirements, in the form of Rally initiatives/features/user stories, for new projects and product enhancements.

Requirements:
- 1+ year of experience working with, and understanding of, schools and/or public libraries
- 1-2 years of experience with digital content or educational technology
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Education, Literature, or Library Science preferred
- Understand complex problems and collaborate to explore alternative solutions.
- Organize and prioritize individual work schedule to manage multiple tasks and/or projects.
- Make decisions that have an impact on the immediate work unit’s operations and/or services
- Communicate in-depth information for the purpose of interpreting, and/or negotiating.
- Ability to compute, analyze, and interpret numerical data.
