This position is responsible for the operation of the Reference and Information Department of the library, including administrative, professional, and supervisory responsibilities. Duties include, but are not limited to, evaluating the library’s reference and information services and making recommendation for changes and improvements; troubleshooting computer and other equipment; advising and assisting patrons in selecting, locating, and utilizing library resource materials through knowledge of print materials, the computerized catalog, electronic databases, and the Internet; instructing the public in the use of reference resources, through individual and group instruction; managing the annual budget for reference and some nonfiction purchases; participating in the selection and supervising of the full-time and part-time professional reference staff; writing publicity.

Requires: Master’s Degree in Library Science; three to five years of professional library experience, with a focus on reference duties and increasing supervisory skills; ability to communicate effectively (spoken or written); willingness and ability to keep up with new technology. Pre-employment CORI check is mandatory.

Salary: $51,285 – $66,592.50
