Temorary Adult Services Librarian, Robbins Library, Arlington, MA

Duties:

The Robbins Library is seeking a temporary librarian to cover a six-month leave ending on April 8. This librarian will assist patrons in the use of the library; respond to reference questions using the materials collection, online databases and the Internet; provide reader’s advisory; manage fiction, ebook, and other collections as assigned; troubleshoot copiers, printers, microfilm machines and computers; create displays, booklists and finding aids, utilize social media to market library services; other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications:

MLS; two years professional experience; knowledge of print and digital information sources including databases and ebooks; knowledge of current popular fiction and non-fiction; strong commitment to providing excellent customer service; strong oral and written communication skills; flexibility, energy, and enthusiasm. 

35 hours/week (unbenefited), including approximately 14 hours on the Reference desk, Wednesday evenings, Saturday rotation
