Data Quality Analyst, MIB Group, Braintree, MA

POSITION SUMMARY: The analyst supports the quality and integrity of MIB’s databases through a broad range of technical and analytical functions. Responsible for thorough and detailed data analysis on daily basis. This position requires an extensive amount of attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and focus on set tasks. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education:  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent industry experience
  • Experience: 0 – 3 years of experience in data analysis
  • Skills: Exceptional analytical ability and attention to detail; Ability to multi-task and prioritize while effectively managing several projects; High level of mental concentration and focus; Ability to interpret and evaluate various forms of data, both independently and as a team; Must work well in a team environment; Strong communication skills, both verbal and written; Comfortable with external customer contact and troubleshooting; Expertise with MS Office, particularly Excel; Working knowledge of SQL and query building and XML.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform daily data analysis of Inquiries and Updates from MIB Member Companies
  • Complete updates to data as requested by MIB Member Companies and/or internal departments
  • Perform post processing analysis in conjunction with Data Quality team members and Production Support team
  • Investigate, track and report on all data events, incidents and intrusions through analysis and diagnosis
  • Perform data corrections or recovery steps to improve overall data quality
  • Perform on demand and cyclical data certification analysis and communicate any inconsistencies
  • Meet deadlines and service level expectations for daily and on demand analysis
  • Manipulate XML data in various forms utilizing tools such as Excel Pivot Tables
  • Write, build and execute SQL queries in support of data quality initiatives
  • Offer creative solutions to streamline data processing
  • If necessary, contact MIB Member Companies to identify and correct data anomalies
    • Answer questions, verify, and interpret Member Companies’ answers and corrections to the correspondence sent to them by MIB, and keep close contact with the rest of the department to relay findings
    • Communicate anomalies, questonable data, etc, to MIB Techinical Solutions Center for corrective action
  • Help upkeep databases with generic or customized test records for customer testing and process advisories
  • Assist with production problems by providing a scope of the problem to the Data Quality and Production Support teams
  • Utilize production job scheduler to set up and execute batch jobs by utilizing JCL commands
  • Inspect JES listings and utilize verify success of production job
  • Utilize various GUIs to accomplish project tasks and daily research
    • Support Dictionary projects including but not limited to: independent research and recommendations for Dictionary groupings
    • Follow PMO guidelines as a functional project team member
    • Represent Data Quality team in interdepartmental meetings
    • Adhere to data security standards plus HIPAA compliance rules pertaining to, but not limited to, PHI and Consumer Protected Data
