Two Positions: Library Assistants in Discovery Services & Archives, Beatley Library, Simmons College, Boston, MA

Simmons College Library is seeking two Library Assistants to work in the Discovery Services and College Archives areas.
These full-time, pre-professional positions are open to students enrolled in SLIS who have taken three or fewer classes. Salary is $31,500 and includes a generous benefits package, including tuition remission for up to two classes a semester (one during the first year of employment).
Both positions will support all areas of the Discovery Services department and participate in Library-wide planning and projects.
The Library Assistant in Discovery Services will focus on:
- overseeing ILL borrowing and lending requests;
- participating in the acquisitions and invoicing cycle for all library materials;
- performing cataloging using AACR2 and MARC format;
- managing data entry and preparing reports in the Integrated Library System (ILS); and
- troubleshooting and data collection for E-resources.

The Library Assistant in Discovery Services and Archives will focus on:
- supporting Digital Assets initiatives (acquiring and preserving institution specific digital assets, developing exhibits and displays, populating a digital institutional repository);
- participating in the work of the College Archives (acquisition, preservation, description, and use of archival materials and College records); and
- participating in the work of the Discovery Services department (acquisitions, cataloging, E-resources, and Interlibrary Loan).
