eLearning Librarian, Southern New Hampshire University, Manchester, NH

Southern New Hampshire University’s Shapiro Library invites applications for the position of eLearning Librarian. The eLearning Librarian will lead the formulation, production, and advancement of elearning initiatives that support Southern New Hampshire University’s online programs. Working collaboratively with colleagues, faculty and students the successful candidate will implement and support innovative customer-centered solutions and integrate the best current technologies to support instructional and research activities for online learners.

Essential duties and responsibilities of this position include the following:

  • Collaborating with Shapiro Library, College for Online and Continuing Education (COCE) and College for America (CfA) staff to design and implement online resources to support information literacy, online research instruction, and eLearning discovery experiences
  • Providing training and reference services for COCE and CfA staff, faculty and students on information literacy and library resources
  • Advise team members with questions about online sources and copyright evaluation, refer to Compliance Officer as appropriate
  • Troubleshoot access and technical issues with library resources in courses
  • Monitor and guide the SNHU student social media site library presence
  • Develop and maintain successful online tools targeting elearning experiences and enhancing access to library resources and services including videos and research guides
  • Maintain the Shapiro Library YouTube channel
  • Participates in collection development and management
  • Perform library faculty responsibilities including participation in Library, University, and outside professional committees
  • Acts as Library Liaison to online programs (COCE & CfA)
  • Leads and participates in special projects as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited program
  • Instructing in-person sessions, synchronously in Blackboard or other LMS, and via Adobe Connect or other software
  • Creating and delivering professional development for staff and faculty in regards to information literacy, copyright and fair use, and other topics to enhance teaching, learning, and building of robust online courses
  • Knowledge of instructional design processes and learning theories as they apply to online education
  • Experience in course and curriculum design in Blackboard or other LMS
  • Experience creating and maintaining research guides, preferably using LibGuides
  • Ability to write scripts, record, edit and produce instructional videos and knowledge of best practices in management, compliance and organization of videos
  • Experience using design and editing software for media like Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia, Articulate Storyline/ Replay, or other elearning software
  • Experience providing reference via email, chat, text, phone, and in-person to staff and faculty, as well as students
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time and excellent time management skills
  • Experience troubleshooting technical issues experienced by library patrons in using library resources and services
