Library Director, New Durham Public Library, New Durham, NH

The Trustees of the New Durham Library seek a creative, dynamic and motivated Library Director with strong public service and organizational skills. The Director is responsible for the day- to- day operation of the library; supervising two part-time staff; developing and implementing the budget; planning and marketing library collections and acquisitions; promoting programs for all ages; working closely with the Library Board of Trustees to set goals and policies, and serves as a liaison to the school, the town government, and a variety of community organizations.

Qualifications:  The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills; promote a welcoming and customer-service oriented library; possess strong interpersonal skills, be able to work both independently and cooperatively in a team-centered environment and maintain an effective working relationship with the Board of Trustees, the Select Board, Library staff, Town officials and community boards and commissions.

Requirements: A bachelor’s degree is required, and MLS (in-process is acceptable) is desired, but not required for the right candidate.

Salary: Commensurate with experience. This is a full time position with benefits.
