The Libraries at the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) [library.unco.edu] seeks a creative, enthusiastic individual for the position of Instruction Librarian and Assistant Professor of University Libraries, position number F99991. This is a contract-renewable position that reports to the Head of Instructional Services.
UNC instruction librarians teach students from a variety of diverse backgrounds and are committed to facilitating dynamic, learner-centered experiences for all students. The successful candidate is responsible for teaching face-to-face and online as part of a well-established credit-bearing information literacy program. In addition to credit courses, Instruction librarians develop and deliver one-time, course-integrated instruction sessions to undergraduate students using innovative, activelearning techniques. The individual in this position will engage students by creating web guides, tutorials, and digital learning objects. The individual will also participate in assessment to support the continuous improvement of the instructional program and demonstrate the Libraries’ impact on student learning to stakeholders.
Instruction librarians maintain relationships with numerous programs on campus, including the Center for Human Enrichment, the UNC Honor’s Program, and the Center for International Education. The successful candidate will contribute to various outreach activities to cultivate campus and community partnerships.
This position offers opportunities for innovation and professional growth in areas that include curriculum development, classroom assessment, liaison activities, collection development, and special programming. The successful candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively, work collaboratively, and prioritize work assignments within a vibrant and stimulating environment.
