Assistant Director of the Library, Wentworth Institute of Technology, Boston, MA

The Wentworth Institute of Technology Library seeks an innovative, flexible, and forward-thinking leader to assist the Director in the management, supervision, and administration of the Library. The Assistant Director is expected to actively engage in all aspects of the WIT Library and to serve as an ambassador and advocate for the Library with campus constituencies, consortia (FLO and Colleges of the Fenway), as well as regional and national organizations. In addition, the Assistant Director oversees the public face of the library and will lead an enthusiastic group of Reference, Instruction and Access Services librarians in developing and delivering cutting-edge library services and technologies for the Wentworth community. This position collaborates with faculty and other institutional partners to support the mission of Wentworth Institute of Technology at all levels, creating new library programs and partnerships and sustaining existing programs to enhance and support EPIC learning, teaching and research. The Assistant Director serves in the capacity of the Library Director when the director is absent.

Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA accredited program and 2 years’ experience supervising professional librarians required.

A second Master’s Degree or direct experience supporting STEM programs and/or Digital Humanities at a college or university library preferred.
