Duties 

Providence Public Library is seeking a part time reference and information services librarian to perform reference/information services. He/she works with a dynamic, collaborative team to provide essential direct service to the public, both in person, by telephone and online, including via the online Statewide Reference Resource Center’s AskRI service. This position may also participate in aspects of collection development and maintenance, interlibrary loan, readers’ advising, instruction; may be assigned to other special library projects.

All Providence Public librarians must have a commitment to excellent customer service towards a diverse community of users of all ages. Enthusiasm, flexibility, and an ability to work within an evolving library environment are required.

This is a grant funded position with the probability of renewal.

Qualifications

M.L.S. required with reference experience and a high degree of technology competence preferred.

Hours: 18 hours per week – no benefits

Hourly Rate: $ 21.42
