The Newport Public Library, Newport, RI is seeking a full-time Head of Reference and Adult Services librarian with strong leadership, reference and technology skills. The person filling this position will be enthusiastic and customer-oriented, and will play a strong role in a diverse array of 21st century reference and information services, including computer instruction and troubleshooting, reader’s advisory, reference, adult programming and collection development (both in print and digital media). This person is also expected to be knowledgeable in website maintenance and development.
The successful candidate will have an MLIS from an ALA accredited program, and 3-5 years of library experience, preferably at some supervisory level. Public library experience is strongly preferred. This position requires weekend and evening hours. Pay range: $48,426-$51,625.
