Information Literacy and Academic Program Liaison Librarian, Mount Ida College, Newton, MA

We are currently accepting applications for an Information Literacy and Academic Program Liaison Librarian.

The Information Literacy and Academic Program Liaison Librarian will work as a member of the Wadsworth Library team to provide information literacy instruction, collection development and reference services to students, faculty and staff at Mount Ida College. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Designing, presenting and assessing information literacy instruction
  • Facilitating communication with faculty regarding collection development and program needs
  • Providing distance and on campus professional reference services to faculty, students, staff, and the general public
  • Providing evening reference service one day a week and alternating weekends during the academic year

A Master’s degree in Library Science or Library and Information Science is required. Must have strong curriculum development and teaching skills; a working knowledge of library resources and reference services; excellent interpersonal skills; strong public service commitment; ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a collegial and diverse environment. Knowledge and experience with LibApps and Sierra (ILS/LSP) is preferred as well as familiarity with emerging technologies and leveraging social media for marketing and instructional purposes.
