Washington County Cooperative Library Services is seeking a trailblazing and passionate librarian to lead the system in providing library service to the diverse children and families in this county. As one of the busiest library systems in the country, the position will require someone energetic, efficient, effective, and collaborative.
Under the direction of the Outreach and Youth Services Program Supervisor, the Youth Services Librarian assumes responsibility for the Early Literacy Outreach program and coordination of county-wide youth and young adult activities. Successful applicants must possess a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record. This position requires that you successfully pass a comprehensive security background investigation.
Successful candidates will possess:
- A Master’s level education in Library Science from an accredited American Library Association program or related field; and
- Two years of recent and relevant professional level library experience.
- Extensive experience in a professional-level librarian position may substitute for the degree requirements.
Desired Qualifications:
Our ideal candidate would be an Every Child Ready to Read Standardized Trainer certified by the Oregon Registry (or out-of-state equivalent) to train their colleagues and peers to use the Every Child Ready to Read curriculum with parents and family, friends, and neighbor providers for Set One continuing education credit and who has provided trainings to all those groups.
Candidates that have successfully completed the Every Child Ready to Read training from a Standardized Trainer and that incorporate the practices into their library programming and parent trainings is desired.
Wage/Salary:
$4,779.76 – $5,808.73 monthly
