Frank and Peggy Steele Internship Program, National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, Oneonta, NY

The January 31st deadline to apply for the Frank and Peggy Steele Internship Program at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum is quickly approaching. Please make your students aware of this unique and valuable internship opportunity.

The Steele Internship Program offers college students an opportunity to work alongside Museum and Library staff to gain hands-on professional training. Internships are available in the Curatorial, Development, Education, Library, Public Relations, Sales and Licensing, and Special Events departments. Interns will also have the opportunity to participate in professional seminars and to complete short-term projects.

All internships are ten weeks in length from June 2 through August 8, 2014. Interns receive a bi-weekly stipend over the course of the 10-week internship. Housing is not provided; however a local college in Oneonta, NY, offers affordable dorm housing to interns.

The Frank & Peggy Steele Internship Program welcomes applicants for the Ozzie Smith Diversity Scholarship. Students of ethnically and culturally diverse backgrounds pursuing a four year bachelor’s or master’s degree are eligible for this scholarship. Complete scholarships are awarded following acceptance into Frank & Peggy Steele Internship Program. Interested candidates should attach a one-page statement of interest with your cover letter and resume.

To be eligible, students must have completed their sophomore year and be enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program at a college or university during the internship, or have just graduated in May 2014.
